How To Erase Facebook Notifications, Facebook can send you alerts through email or text for almost every possible interaction on its site. The alerts can inform you if you have actually got a new message, were mentioned in a post, tagged in a photo or talk about your wall; to name a few things. While there are workarounds to all such scenarios, they require a few additional clicks and tweaking with settings you may not desire changed (not everybody would like to stop their buddies from being able to tag them at all!). Thanks to the recent change to Facebook's notification drop down, you can pull out of notifications right from within the panel itself.
Now, when you hover over a notification product, you'll observe a little cross appearing in the top-right corner. Bring your mouse cursor over this cross, and pertinent option will be shown. For example, if it's a notice from an app, individual or group, you can easy turn those off, and they'll never bother you once again.
If you opt to shut off a notice, a confirmation box will appear, asking you to verify the action. This is to avoid any accidental dismissals-- something that I think Facebook has done right.
Depending upon the type of notice, the options will vary. For circumstances, if it's a notification of discuss a post that you've been tagged in, rather of turning it off, you'll be able to Unfollow the post, for this reason removing any subsequent notices from the exact same.
