How To Make Facebook Pictures Private. Any photo that you're tagged in "belongs" to another person. Unless it's a photo of you that you tagged yourself in.,
If it's a photo of you that you took and tagged yourself in, you "own" the picture, and are for that reason in charge of its personal privacy settings. You can pick "Just Me" from the drown down menu on the picture, like so:
Images that others have tagged you in will stay public, even if you remove the tag from that photo Whoever submitted the image that your tagged in "owns" that photo.
To eliminate a tag, click the drop down arrow at the top of the post/ image and click "Get rid of Tag":

You can also change your timeline privacy settings. These are mine:
Go to settings from the fall menu:.
Then choose "Timeline and Tagging".
You'll be able to control exactly what can be published on your timeline, and if you see someone has actually tagged a picture of you, you can get rid of the tag and choose to conceal it from your timeline.
Facebook will alert you to anybody who's tagged you in anything on your actual timeline, at the bottom right of your cover photo.
In summary, only your very own material can be made personal. Anything you have actually been tagged in by others will be public - however you have the option to conceal this material from your timeline.
