How To Make Your Pictures Private On Facebook. Any photo that you're tagged in "belongs" to somebody else. Unless it's a photo of you that you tagged yourself in.,
If it's a picture of you that you took and tagged yourself in, you "own" the image, and are therefore in charge of its personal privacy settings. You can choose "Just Me" from the drown down menu on the picture, thus:

Images that others have tagged you in will remain public, even if you get rid of the tag from that picture Whoever uploaded the picture that your tagged in "owns" that photo.
To get rid of a tag, click the drop down arrow at the top of the post/ picture and click "Get rid of Tag":

You can also change your timeline personal privacy settings. These are mine:

Go to settings from the fall menu:.

Then select "Timeline and Tagging".
You'll be able to manage exactly what can be posted on your timeline, and if you see someone has tagged an image of you, you can remove the tag and opt to conceal it from your timeline.
Facebook will alert you to anyone who's tagged you in anything on your actual timeline, at the bottom right of your cover picture.
In summary, only your own content can be made private. Anything you have actually been tagged in by others will be public - however you have the option to hide this material from your timeline.
