Make Facebook Photos Private. Any photo that you're tagged in "belongs" to another person. Unless it's an image of you that you tagged yourself in.,
If it's a picture of you that you took and tagged yourself in, you "own" the image, and are therefore in charge of its personal privacy settings. You can pick "Only Me" from the drown down menu on the photo, thus:

To eliminate a tag, click the fall arrow at the top of the post/ picture and click "Get rid of Tag":
