I can attempt to comprehend about Facebook, Yahoo desires part of that audience and traffic to bear in mind the emails created probably just so they can use Facebook.
What Yahoo dosn't really get is that the majority of those people have no usage for email. But exactly what about Google? After nearly 7 years of being dominated by Gmail, Yahoo finally chose to give up and cut their losses. It's not that bad of a strategy actually, rather of having their users go and make their own google accounts and leave completely, they can now utilize google docs and maps and other apps (not wave) and still delight in the comfort of their sluggish paced yahoo mail. But still. allowing your users to log in with one of your greatest rival, must be one of the mind blowing concepts of their own bullshit moron.
Google on the other hands are keeping their sure and consistent course to worldwide supremacy. Obviously quickly they will use this service to other e-mail companies (like windows live:D) And quite quick you will log into most website using dear old Google. Easy for you, EXCELLENT for them!
